With so many brands and varieties of lipstick available today, it can be a daunting task to decide which one to wear on a particular day. If you are thinking of buying some lipstick, the first thing that you should keep in mind is the color contrast. A light pink lipstick will look weird on a person with dark hair, and a very dark shade of lipstick on a fair-skinned girl will make her look pale and bleached. The color contrast must be decided based on general appearance. For instance, if your hair is already colored black, then you may consider wearing a light-pink lipstick to offset the darker shade of your hair. If your eyes are naturally brown, then a nude lip color will be more ideal.
Your eyeliner, in addition to color contrast, should also be chosen with the concept of the overall make-up theme. If you have light skin and dark eyes, then the right makeup application for your eyes will be different from the one that would apply to pale and red-skinned girls. Makeup artists use different techniques and shades for their makeup jobs, and there is no hard-and-fast rule regarding which shades will look great on which skin type. But general advice for a makeup job on the eyes is: a natural flush and a hint of color on the cheeks.
